Atlantis Cruises

In 1999, the owner of a relatively new, young, music-based gay cruise charter company approached Guy Smith at an event he was operating, and asked him if he could ‘do this on a cruise ship.’  Guy promised to give it a try, and found himself months later on the largest passenger ship in the world (at the time), the Norwegian Sky.  Guy provided all lighting, sound, and logistics, and operated the lighting for all-night parties on five nights of that cruise.  At that time he became a Vari*lite certified technician and was able to begin renting the gear from VLPS to light subsequent cruises.  As the new ships got larger, Atlantis Events continued to fully charter the biggest and newest ships in the world, and FRDG continued to increase production value transforming the pool decks into the most spectacular night clubs in the world.  FRDG is now the leading specialist in this burgeoning field, having designed production and operated over 100 cruises for Summit Cruises, RSVP, Groove Cruise, Coachella Cruise, Kandy Cruise, and other dance music oriented companies.
